The All India Management Association (AIMA) has opened registration for the Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2025. Aspirants targeting AICTE-approved MBA / PGDM colleges can apply now.

MAT 2025 — exam modes and dates

AIMA conducts the MAT in three modes — Internet-Based Test (home / centre), Computer-Based Test and Paper-Based Test. Candidates can choose one or more modes based on convenience and registration cut-offs.

You can register for multiple modes by paying the additional registration fee. Best score is usually accepted by participating colleges, but verify with each B-school.

MAT 2025 fee structure

  • Single mode (CBT / IBT / PBT) — ₹2,100.
  • CBT + IBT or CBT + PBT — ₹3,500.
  • Double IBT — ₹3,500.
  • Re-test (any mode) — additional ₹2,100.

Eligibility — who can apply

  • Bachelor’s degree (any discipline) from a UGC-recognised university with minimum 50% aggregate.
  • Final-year graduation candidates can apply on a provisional basis.
  • No upper age limit set by AIMA — individual colleges may have their own age caps.
  • NRI / foreign nationals are eligible to apply.

Exam pattern and syllabus snapshot

MAT is a 150-minute paper-based on multi-section MCQ format. Each section has 40 questions with a +1 / −0.25 marking scheme.

Which MAT mode is best — CBT, IBT or PBT?

IBT is most flexible (home test). CBT is held at allotted test centres. PBT is the traditional pen-paper format. Difficulty level is similar across modes — pick by convenience.

How many times can I attempt MAT in 2025?

AIMA conducts MAT four times a year (Feb, May, Sep, Dec). You can attempt all four sessions — best score is generally accepted by colleges.

Is the MAT score valid for foreign B-schools?

A few international management institutes accept MAT, but most foreign B-schools require GMAT or GRE. Check each institute’s admission policy.
